A LITTLE JEWISH BAKERY IN SOUTH PHILLY

Located in vibrant East Passyunk, Essen Bakery is an artisan bakery, specializing in jewish baked goods.

After years of working at some of America's most iconic restaurants, Chef Tova du Plessis decided to go back to her roots when she opened her first bakery. She took inspiration from the fresh-baked bread and pastries she would make alongside her mother as a child. Her food reflects her heritage while being heavily influenced by her classical training.

Essen Bakery offers a cozy neighborhood spot to enjoy a great cup of coffee from local roaster Elixr, alongside a sweet treat. There is also a seasonally inspired sandwich and toast menu for a savory snack or lunch. All breads and pastries are baked fresh everyday, with the best ingredients we can find
